@sanyagold: I audited my own personal IUL policy. The math doesn’t lie. Over the last 7 years, I have faithfully contributed $100 a month into an Indexed Universal Life (IUL) policy with a $200,000 death benefit. Mathematically, that is $8,400 out of my own pocket. When I pulled my statement to look at my actual cash value, the balance was about $1,500 (surrender charge is a lot higher). As a financial professional, I had to look past the sales pitches and audit the structural mechanics of where that remaining $6,900 actually went. What I found is a complex system of front-loaded premium expense fees, rising costs of insurance, and surrender penalties designed to protect the insurance company’s bottom line—not your wealth. I am launching a brand new 6-part series breaking down the exact forensic math behind why minimum-funded IUL policies struggle to grow cash value and how you can audit your own statement to see if you are stuck in the same trap. Drop a comment below if you’ve ever looked at your life insurance statement and wondered where your money went. #IUL #nigerianindiaspora #immigrantfinance #financewithsanyagold #primerica

just to share my little cents. I have had my iul policies for over 4 years and it's still the best decision I made for me and my kids. I still also have other portfolios for Diversification. I didn't get a policy cos an agent sold it to me. I got the policy cos I educated myself on how I can use it for myself and my children 20 years down the line. Term isn't for everyone, well it wasn't for me cos the fact of thinking of a payout only when I died was like me jinxing death unto myself. I didn't want a term, even though it was the 1st option that was sold to me. I worked with a Caucasian family, who exposed me to permanent life policies and how they used it in their living years. I didn't know how to ask them to get one for myself until an immigrant like myself showed me. I still didn't believe it was true but I educated myself, "Tiktok wasn't a thing then". Social media education would cripple a lot of people 10 years from now. I encourage everyone to hear from those that permanent policies have worked for and how they maximised it and not only from people that it failed. Remember, empty barrels always make the loudest noise.

You mention IUL in the on screen hook but then mention whole or term life in the actual video. Blanket statements don’t cover everyone’s needs or only one type of life insurance would exist. Some people need term; others need whole life; some need IUL. A financial needs analysis and a conversation will properly diagnose that 🤦🏿♂️

Don't let these agents confuse you with words, at the core, they all fall under the same umbrella. If you are just building your life in a new country, getting a term life insurance is your best bet. These IUL enrich the agents but it drains you.

Uhhh you said your surrender value was $1500 but you didn’t tell us what your cash value is .I challenge you that this is completely false.Your surrender value is what you are able to withdraw at that moment and it’s not your cash value ,you’re looking at the wrong column .After contributing $8500,it is impossible that your cash value is $1500.I challenge you to screenshot the policy columns and post it if this is true

I’ve come to believe that African immigrants living in the US for a long time and didn’t get their ducks in a row financially, are JEALOUS of those that just came to the country and are learning this before they get caught up in ten American system. Shame on others who are hindering the growth of new immigrants.

Mission To Stop Untruths :
@Mission To Stop Untruths: Your post is saying IUL but you are talking about whole life. Do you not know the difference? Also, if you have an IUL and contributed $8500, there is no way the cash value would be $1500. She’s mixing up Cash Value/Policy Value and the Cash Surrender Value. That’s why when she surrendered the policy before the surrender period is ended she got $1500.
