Didn’t realize there was so much hate for board games that seems crazy to me.. we have friends that we meet up with once a moth to specifically play board games in a bar that has thousands of them to choose from to play on the shelves and it’s such a good time

I also married into a board game family. (Plus wine and cheese) I didn’t have the normal family dynamic growing up first time I attended a game night I told my husband it was like a family from a movie lol

My family does this. I realized it's because they lack social skills. t They don't know how to talk to each other and engage in a conversation that goes deeper than the weather or the neighbour's renovations. It's sad af and I don't want it! I wanna talk politics, work, philosophy, science, love, etc. My family made me feel like a hamster in a terrarium that was 20× too small.

I married into a family that opens christmas presents one at a time AND plays games at every major get together....it's nice, but such a big change from how I grew up

Married into a party game family. Sometimes they’re fun, it depends on the game. But I came from a let-talk-for-8-hours family, and its tough for my husband to sit and not do anything with his hands for that long
