I was married to this man. He owned a business and I was at an elite school earning my doctorate. The minute I graduated and got a book contract, offers from elite schools, elected to boards, speaking at conferences and essentially developing a career that was public where people would turn to me as an expert, he started sabotaging my career by manufacturing crises with our kids and finances. Long story short: Be careful about quick conclusions about men. They switch it up quickly. It was brag-worthy when I was in grad school.
