I’m a proud African :
Hey, I think when a parent tells a child about the sacrifices they make for them, it shouldn’t be about making the child feel guilty or as though they owe their parents something. It’s about helping them understand the value of family, responsibility, gratitude and love.Children need to understand that a family is a team. We make sacrifices for one another because we love each other and because we want the people we love to have opportunities, security and a better future. In return, it’s not about “paying back” your parents ,it’s about learning to value what you have, make the most of the opportunities you are given, and eventually become someone who can also care for and contribute to the people around you.Purpose is one of the things that drives motivation. When you know that what you do is bigger than just yourself, you often find a reason to keep going even when things are difficult. As parents, part of our purpose is providing a better life for the people we love. As children grow, they will discover their own purpose too ,their dreams, their family, their community, the people they want to help, and the kind of person they want to become. That is why I want my children to know about the sacrifices behind the life they have ,not to carry guilt, but to carry gratitude, strength, responsibility and a sense of purpose. ❤️
