Got home from a sleepover up the street on February 15th 2004, when i was 8, and my mom told me dad passed the night before. she told me she wanted me to have the sleepover with my friend up the street so I could have one more normal night before my life changed. I knew my dad was sick, he had lung cancer. I miss my daddy every day

When my nan passed away, my dad told me “She waited for you to get home from Victoria so you could say goodbye”, I’d flown down to VIC for my fiancé’s pop’s funeral the day before and flew back to NSW, got to the hospital an hour before she passed and held her hand as she went.

my mom has said a lot of vile things to me throughout my life but one that always sticks with me is when i was having a breakdown at the lowest point of my life after getting cheated on while 3 months post partum, she said to my face 'i would cheat on you too, do you see how you're acting?'. i couldve acted worse given the circumstances but i was just crying. i could never imagine saying something like that to my daughter

My mom told me it was my fault my dad died. Because I asked the nurse to get him a therapist for everything he’d been through. And the next day death doctors were in there talking about end of life. I didn’t ask for that.
