@mandibossard: Finally writing again! I hope this is helpful to anyone who’s been on a similar bumpy journey. #adhd #adhdinwomen #ocd #neurodivergent #latediagnosis
Going through this too. It's like my brain has been angry bees my whole life, taking Vyvanse is like smoking the hive so they calm and I can finally harvest my honey. 🥲

This feels so relatable to me. I have been struggling with my anxiety and depression lately so I probably need to get back on my adhd meds… Going to go read this now.

I *just* finished reading this! It's absolutely a plank in the bridge I'm building towards maybe seeking a diagnosis myself, so thank you for writing it!

I was diagnosed with Postpartum depression after the birth of my kiddo at like 38. i was diagnosed with inattentive ADHD at 52. And I've had to reassess many things in my life. Was it postpartum depression or was it adhd overwhelm with a loud and active child, and a PTSD vet husband who also very probably has ADHD? Babies require so much attention and my early parenting overwhelm makes so much sense through the lense of an attention management disorder and executive dysfunction. After the first two years I described my "depression" and the gap between thinking I should do something and being able to do it, so for 12 years. And I got a new psyc and she said "that doesn't sound like depression, that sounds like executive dysfunction. can I screen you for ADHD?" I answered her questions pretty confident that I didn't have it, but low! I was a girl who learned coping skills while constantly internally calling myself lazy. Adderall is amazing, as is my guanfacine sidecar.

I have inattentive type adhd as well. I have also never been rambunctious. I’m on stimulants now and I can’t believe I did a whole master’s degree without them.

working to get evaluated currently at 26 and never realized how much i align with inattentive symptoms versus what I always thought ADHD and how it presents in males versus females and have just always thought I was extremely anxious and lazy

When I went back for a 1-month follow-up when I started vyvanse and they asked how I was doing… girl the joy radiating from me as I told them I got all my paperwork done on time and didn’t have to stay up until 1am to do it…
