What I do t think we talk about enough is the prosecutors arguing these cases! They need to be disbarred! Arguing that because there is no case law stating you can’t slam a persons face into a tree means it’s okay to do it is absolutely ridiculous!

THIS is the EXACT reason people should STOP settling lawsuits because settling DOES NOT produce “case law”. By going to court “case law” is produced for said lawsuit. The next time this happens again there WILL be case law to be used AGAINST cop violations.

When police use arrest as retaliation against citizens who question, criticize, or refuse to submit to unlawful authority, they turn the badge into a weapon against constitutional rights. Every arrest should be based on legitimate probable cause—not an officer's wounded pride. Accountability requires independent review of police conduct, not automatic protection from the department's own.
