@boxboxcarclub: While F1 prices everyone out and becomes a billionaire's playground, rally is about to do the complete opposite. And it might be the boldest move in motorsport. Or the beginning of the end 🏁 Here's what's happening. The WRC is in trouble, down to just three manufacturers, with cars that have become insanely expensive. So from 2027, they're tearing up the rulebook. The new top car will be capped at around €345,000, more than 50% cheaper than today. And for the first time ever, they're opening the door to tuners. Independent garages. The kind of small, obsessive builders who live and breathe cars. The rules are so open almost any shape can compete. Hatchbacks against SUVs, saloons against bespoke one-offs. But here's the catch that made me laugh. Under those wild bodies, the tuners have to buy a full drivetrain from one existing manufacturer, same spec engine for everyone. So you could get a grid of cars that look totally different but underneath are basically identical. And the worrying part? We're a year out, and so far only ONE major manufacturer, Toyota, has committed. The others are hesitating. Personally, I love that someone is finally lowering the barrier instead of raising it. F1 slams the door shut. Rally throws it wide open. So is this genius, rally welcoming the little guy while series like F1 shut them out?
