Hi, mechanical engineering student here that specializes in optics. No, that is not a “second moon.” What you are seeing is indeed an optical phenomenon that occurs with very bright sources of light. Internal reflections within the glass lens and the CMOS of your camera occur, as well as scattering from imperfections in the light path (if you have any oils or dust particles on the lens, light will refract slightly differently and will most likely also diffract). You can kind of tell this is the case because the “second moon” seen is quite literally identical in appearance to the regular moon, just dimmer. You can buy filters for cameras that get rid of this effect, as it is a well understood phenomenon in optics.
