@marewood: STOP LETTING EVERYTHING BECOME URGENT 🚨 How I stop everything on my to-do list from feeling like an emergency when I’m depressed + have ADHD: my boundary list. When everything feels urgent, I stop asking myself “what do I need to get done?” and start asking “what am I NOT available for today?” I make a boundary list with myself: 1. I’m not adding new tasks just because I remembered them — they go in my parking lot list 2. I’m not changing my priorities because someone else wants something from me 3. I’m not turning a task I’ve avoided into an emergency unless there’s actually a consequence 4. I’m not borrowing from tomorrow’s energy just to feel productive today 5. I’m not doing something immediately just because my brain is making it feel urgent Not everything that feels urgent is urgent. Sometimes discipline is getting things done. Sometimes discipline is having enough boundaries with yourself to stop creating emergencies all day.
