What saddens me is that we had to create spaces where kids are not allowed because of neglectful parents… kids are only the reflection of the parenting they’ve received… so if we had better parents across the globe, we won’t need child free places

Make sure you understand your baby’s weight, feeding instructions, medications or supplements (if any), and any follow-up recommendations. 3️⃣ Choose a pediatrician Ideally, have your baby’s first pediatrician appointment scheduled before leaving the hospital. Ask when your baby needs to be seen and what to do if you have questions before that appointment. 4️⃣ Know where to go in an emergency Know which emergency room or pediatric emergency department is closest to you and covered by your insurance. Save the address and phone number in your phone—you don’t want to be searching for it during a stressful moment. 5️⃣ Ask ALL the questions There is no such thing as a “stupid” question when it comes to your newborn. Before leaving, ask about feeding, diapers, sleep, bathing, cord care, jaundice, temperature, medications, and what signs should make you call the pediatrician or seek urgent care. 6️⃣ Understand your baby’s warning signs Ask the medical team specifically what symptoms are normal during the first few days and which ones require immediate medical attention. 7️⃣ Know who to call Ask for the pediatrician’s office number, after-hours number, and any hospital or nurse line available to you. 8️⃣ Check your car seat Your newborn should leave the hospital in an appropriate, properly installed rear-facing car seat. If your hospital offers a car-seat check, take advantage of it. 9️⃣ Keep your newborn’s documents organized Create one folder—physical or digital—for discharge papers, birth information, insurance documents, pediatrician information, and medical records. And most importantly… Don’t leave until you feel comfortable asking questions. 🤍 You’re not supposed to know everything on day one. The goal isn’t to have all the answers—it’s to leave knowing where to find them when you need them.
