It depends on what you deliver for that money. That’s a calculation your boss should understand. If he’s being driven by such petty things as other people’s status, then it’s time to move forward and close that chapter. He’ll be fine, and so will you.

The factual story is your boss doesn't set yiur salary the government does , and it's divided into 3 categories Low , Medium, and of course high . Taxed before you even receive your salary and taxed on everything you buy , money saved taxed again because yiu shouldn't have it , we're paying tax until your last breath . A working man's state pension is 3.76 more than a non contribution pension. Wish I knew that 45 years ago 😪
