What’s triggering you isn’t your consideration itself, but the expectation that other people should naturally operate the way you do. When you think, “I would never do that to someone,” it can quietly become, “Therefore, they shouldn’t do that” And when they do, you suffer. You don’t have to become less considerate. You can recognize, “That was inconsiderate, I wouldn’t have done that, and that hurt me,” and still choose not to make their behavior responsible for your inner peace. You deserve to keep your beautiful capacity to care without making it the standard everyone else has to meet for you to feel okay. That’s where consideration becomes freedom rather than a contract you never told anyone they signed.

i went to a dinner with my partner and his colleagues. 6 people. i spent the whole dinner really trying to engage and i learned a lot about all of them but not a single person asked me a question about myself and i was sick about it. its basic inclusion and i cant stand when people dont view that as an expectation for themselves.
