I just travelled to gatlinburg for the first time since Helene. Me and my husband would travel annually to some portion of the mountains, Asheville or Smokey mountains, for the past 10 years. To see things still so affected brings me to tears often. Remembering in 2024 when it happened, it was so depressing. Still now, it makes my heart ache.
