Actively Listen: Follow the whole session and take notes. Pay attention to highlights. 2. Summarize: You can't summarize if you didn't listen. 3. Speak Impromptu: You may know a week before, but sometimes you will be called without notice, so always be ready. The 5-Step Framework: G-G-H-C-B 1. GREETINGS Warmly salute the audience. Check the time - is it Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening? You can also say Salam Alaikum depending on the audience. 2. GRATITUDE Thank everyone who made the session possible. It could be God, the organizers, participants, speakers, panelists. In our club, we thank the President and his team, the organizers, the participants, and the speaker. Tip: Thank the main speaker LAST, because that will naturally lead you into the highlights. 3. HIGHLIGHTS Share your take-home. Pinpoint only 1 to 3 things maximum. Remember you don't have much time. What quote, what statement, what idea struck you? Example: "My take-home today is..." 4. CALL TO ACTION Appeal to the audience to DO something with what they learned. Example: "I hope from today as good leaders, we will listen before we speak. And when we speak, we ask ourselves, does it destroy or does it construct?" 5. BLESSINGS As one of the last speakers, thank people again and bless them for their next activity. Is it eating? Is it sleeping? Is it travel?
