Video AbdulRazaq Raises Education Support to ₦200m for Mohammed Kamalud-Deen University, Pledges ₦30m to Indigent Ansarul Islam Members Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has announced an additional ₦20 million in educational support for indigent students of Mohammed Kamalud-Deen University (MKU), bringing his total donation to the institution to ₦200 million. The governor also pledged ₦10,000 each to at least 3,000 indigent members of Ansarul Islam Society of Nigeria, amounting to a proposed total of ₦30 million. In a video obtained by Just Event Online TV The announcements were made during a lecture organised by the Islamic organisation as part of activities surrounding its centenary celebration. AbdulRazaq, who holds the traditional title of Sardauna of the Ilorin Emirate, was unable to attend the programme held at MKU the previous week. However, he donated ₦180 million at the event in support of the development of Islamic and Western education in Kwara State. Of the initial donation, ₦30 million was earmarked for scholarships for 30 indigent students of the university. At the latest lecture, leaders of Ansarul Islam appealed to the governor for additional assistance to support the education of more indigent students, prompting his pledge of another ₦20 million. The announcement brought his total support for the university to ₦200 million, while the separate pledge to indigent members of Ansarul Islam could amount to ₦30 million if fully disbursed. The governor was accompanied to the programme by the Kwara APC governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi; Commissioner for Education, Dr Lawal Olohungbebe; Special Adviser on Special Duties, Alhaji Razaq Jiddah; and other senior government officials. AbdulRazaq and Danladi congratulated Ansarul Islam and its leadership on the organisation’s recent centenary celebration. The donations were presented as support for educational advancement and youth empowerment in the state, with particular attention to students facing financial difficulties. AbdulRazaq is also the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Kwara Central in the forthcoming National Assembly elections.
