@deadlyshorts3: Bailee Smith, a nurse from Lubbock, Texas, asked her four-year-old son Wyatt whether he wanted to keep fighting his cancer or stop treatment, after doctors told her his acute myeloid leukaemia could no longer be cured. Wyatt, who was diagnosed in 2023 and endured chemotherapy, a bone marrow transplant and six weeks in isolation before relapsing, told her: "I don't want to do this any more. I just want to go home." Make-A-Wish flew the family to California within 24 hours so the Disneyland-obsessed little boy could meet his hero Iron Man. Wyatt died at home on 15 August 2025 surrounded by his family, after telling his mum he had been seeing his late grandad.
