Honestly, what you’re saying is true. ❤️As Sepik people, our traditional face painting is unique and has meaning behind it. The patterns and designs are connected to our carvings, bilas, and the sinsin and cultural traditions we come from. What I’m seeing here looks more like a Western-style face painting mixed with Sepik culture, rather than the traditional Sepik River designs. There’s nothing wrong with creativity, but when we say we are representing our Sepik culture, we should also understand and respect what our traditional designs actually represent. Our culture is beautiful, and our traditional face painting is part of that identity. ❤️🖤🤍
