Based on my experience, no. I think confidence, connections, and social life can matter more than looks. Matagal ko nang ino-observe yung mga tao and friends around me, and I noticed something. Bakit yung mga average-looking or even "unattractive" guys may someone in their life, minsan maganda pa, pero ako wala? At first, kinompare ko rin yung sarili ko sa iba, pero eventually, napagtanto ko na baka hindi naman talaga looks yung kulang sa akin. Mas kulang ako sa social life and connections. Kapag may connections ka with people, especially friendships, you build trust and get to know each other more, and once you actually get to know someone, personality can become much more important than appearance. Basically, if you're looking for genuine love, you shouldn't only focus on looks. Hindi lahat ng tao bumabase sa itsura. Kung hindi naman lahat bumabase sa looks, then why don't I have someone? Maybe it's because I don't have enough connections, or maybe people simply haven't gotten to know me that deeply yet. I've actually seen this myself. People can genuinely fall in love with someone because of their personality, even if that person isn't conventionally attractive. For me, I don't think the reason I don't have a relationship is simply because of my looks. It could be my lack of social interaction and connections, or maybe I'm just not ready yet because I'm still not financially and mentally prepared for a relationship. So that's how I currently see it based on my own experience.
