@shestruggless: every time i trusted someone, i ended up being betrayed. so eventually, i stopped trusting people altogether. i stopped letting people get close. i stopped believing promises. i stopped expecting anyone to stay. it felt safer not to trust than to be hurt again. then Jesus met me there. He showed me a kind of love that didn’t depend on me being perfect, useful, or easy to love. a love that stayed. a love that didn’t betray me. a love that didn’t ask me to earn it. and slowly, He softened the parts of my heart that i had hardened just to protect myself. He reminded me that not everyone is Him. people can fail me. people can disappoint me. people can leave. but Jesus doesn’t. and through knowing His love, i slowly learned that trusting again didn’t mean pretending i’d never been hurt. it meant refusing to let what people did to me determine whether i would ever let myself love again. He didn’t just heal the places where i had been betrayed.
