They havent built 270 entirely new airports, which doesn't match China's official count of civil transport airports. The official numbers show an increase of roughly 29 airports from 2020 through 2025.

My suspicion is that infrastructure projects are a pain because they're managed by third party outsourcing companies that exist purely to siphon away money regardless of whether the work is down. endless consultants are a scourge on our society
