@thesunnahguy: I think one of the most underrated forms of discipline is learning how to recover quickly. Because most people don’t completely ruin their progress with one bad decision. They ruin it with everything they do afterwards. You miss one workout. Then think, “I’ll start again Monday.” You waste an hour scrolling. Then decide the whole evening is already gone. You eat something you shouldn’t. Then suddenly the entire weekend becomes a write-off. You miss one salah on time. And instead of immediately correcting yourself, you allow the guilt to push you even further away. That’s how one mistake becomes five. Not because the first mistake was catastrophic. But because you decided that once something went wrong, there was no point trying anymore. Life doesn’t work like that. You’re going to have bad mornings. Bad conversations. Weak moments. Days where your discipline disappears. Times where you genuinely disappoint yourself. The goal was never to become someone who never slips. It’s to become someone who doesn’t stay down for very long when they do. Make tawbah. Apologise if you need to. Put the phone down. Go for the walk. Pray the next salah properly. Do the next thing you know you should do. You don’t need to wait until tomorrow. You don’t need Monday. You don’t need another motivational video. You just need to make the next decision better than the last one. Because one bad decision doesn’t define you. But repeatedly using one bad decision as permission to make another one eventually will. Learn to reset quickly. It will save you from wasting days, weeks and eventually years of your life.
