@secondstarsleep: Older little ones have needs to and sometimes they spike into overnight needs. It doesn't mean you are suddenly doing something wrong. A lot of the time it's a little wave to ride and you don't need to actually change anything. Sometimes routines do need changing if a funky moment becomes a longer pattern. The changes might be timing related, or more to do with connection, physical/sensory needs, their needs evolving and us needing to catch up. You NEVER need to fear meeting your child's need for support. They are a literal human and you would never question supporting you adult partner or friend. The above isn't to stunt you into inaction if you need to change something, but that change never needs to involve no support. Remember....you can't spoil them with cuddles...they aren't a fruit. And ALSO even though I know this is normal and I am not worried about his sleep as a whole...it doesn't stop me being tired and finding these moments hard. You aren't finding it difficult because you aren't strong. It's just bloody hard sometimes! Did you need any of these reminders? Lucy xxx PS Click follow for daily sleep tips :)

I needed to watch this. my 32 month old (so yes younger) who usually sleeps through has started waking 1-2 times. I feel like her language has exploded recently and she can articulate herself much better, usiny he and her rathet than names. she ha also she had been a bit snotty too. tweaked the environment already, warmer pj's etc. I know this will pass but I'm also very tired 🥴😴
