Technically I’ve done this with From Blood and Ash because the author got greedy and did all sorts of shit to drag it out as long as possible and now I don’t even know if it’s finished or not when the first two books were SO GOOD

Dnf’d The Artefacts of Ouranos in book 3 (Fate of the Sun King) after the enemies turned into lovers way too damn quickly, the “name of choice” changed from Prisoner to Firefly, the quest became quests, and then the whole “lost my magic” trope somehow lasted longer than the enemies-to-lovers trope. That’s when I lost it. 😂 Sad because I’ve only got one book left. Anybody wanna change my mind?

I dnf'd a series 5 books in. I listened to the audiobooks of the first 4 but then it took 2 years for book 5 to come out on audio and I lost interest and forgot everything. This is why I prefer starting a series once all the books are out in my preferred format.
