@therealsairahayati: @Knights Bullion is in Stratford Upon Avon. I've met then. Chris and Steve along with their cute French bulldogs. Down to earth guys who prefer to talk. They listen and they always guide. #gold #jewelery #money #fyp

If you melt down your jewellery into pieces you have no proof it has been mixed down and makes it hard to sell. You are better of keeping it as it is . That way its easy to prove it's the carat it is stamped as

This is misinformation, whatever value you get for the jewellery specifically 22 karat jewellery, you will get the exact same for ‘the melted bar in pure value’ if not more. Generally speaking, most asian jewellery shops actually offer above refining spot for 22 karat jewellery. In summary, jewellery or bar, the value of the gold remains the same. I’m also sure that refining the jewellery will cost you money, so please don’t take this advice.

Remember you have to pay zakat on gold you have that you don’t wear (shafi’i). And I think hanafi pay regardless even if they wear it. So you can have gold. But you have to also have the money to pay the zakat on it aswell.
