Micromanagement: Being intensely interrogated or called out over a minor delay, like being just 1 minute and 30 seconds late. Suffocating Pressure: Feeling the weight of a high-pressure environment where results are demanded without looking at the bigger picture. The Struggle to Take Time Off: Dealing with the hurdle of having to explain yourself—asking why, where, and what you are doing—just to take your paid leave. While change is happening and work-life balance is improving, these remnants of old corporate pressure still exist in parts of Japan today.
