@innatewellnesslife: “Digestive issues” is a pretty broad category. Feeling like your dinner is still sitting in your stomach three hours later is not the same problem as getting gassy every time you eat beans…and neither is the same as constipation. Which is why I don’t love treating “What should I take for digestion?” like it has one answer. If food feels heavy or like it just sits there after you eat, ginger, digestive bitters or a good digestive enzyme are some of the first things I’d look into. If certain foods leave you gassy, get more specific. Alpha-galactosidase — found in products like Beano and Enzymedica Bean Assist — helps break down certain carbohydrates in beans and some vegetables before they create all that extra gas. A broader digestive enzyme may make more sense when several foods seem to be the problem. For that crampy, trapped-gas feeling, I really like enteric-coated peppermint oil. Ginger is another option. Just know peppermint can worsen acid reflux for some people. For constipation, PHGG, magnesium and triphala can all support regularity in different ways. PHGG is one I talk about a lot because it’s a gentle soluble fiber that also supports the gut microbiome. And yes — digestive enzymes can sometimes make sense with frequent loose stools too, depending on why they’re happening. S. boulardii and PHGG are two other options worth looking into. Now, please do NOT look at this post and decide you need to order nine supplements. 😂 These are examples of options I’d consider for different digestive complaints. It’s not an exhaustive list, and a Reel obviously can’t account for medications, medical conditions, infections, intolerances or every possible cause. The point is to stop treating every digestive problem like it needs the same solution. Figure out what’s actually happening first. Then figure out which type of support makes sense. 🤎 Follow for more practical supplement + gut health education - I’m breaking down what actually makes sense for different symptoms instead of just throwing supplements at everything. #GutHealth #Digestion #DigestiveHealth #GutHealthTips #Supplements
