I don’t where you are dumping at 1 hopper in 60 seconds that’s fast

also, when one of those bags explode it sounds like a sawn off 12 gauge going off next to your head. especially in a tin sided dump pit. ask me how I know 🤣

Your concept is true but your statement is false. I dont know how many times I've had a full load of I-beam taken off my stepdeck trailer all at once with a giant forklift. Never once blew a bag.

Everyone saying they don't dump the bags probably run spring ride trailers....

Ok so I agree that it is better for the airbags to be deflated instead of pulling at the seams. but, think about rail road crossings ,ditches, steep exits and entrances. I know those axels come off of the ground as much as we try not too. They don’t blow them and if they do I think it was about to if not then.

I’ve never had an air ride trailer so I was unaware of that. Call me stupid but a cool thing that’s good to know.

There is only like 65 psi in those airbags. They’re good for 120+ you’re not going to blow the airbag if you don’t dump the air it might look too high, but it will eventually come down unless you have a week bag then it will pop, but they will do the same underload

You don’t need to do it , I’ve dumped thousands of times gates wide open. Most if not all shocks have limiters in them. Also when the weight is off the trailer , there’s a large volume of air but low pressure. It will go out the leveling valve before blowing up the bag. Unless your shit is old worn out junk

as a guy who's worked at a grain elevator, and has seen his fair share of guys not dumping air, then wondering what "that sound was" and then pull out of the elevator with broken air bags, this guy knows what he's talking about. always dump your air. better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it

With quad side tippers on mine sites I Australia we load them with 50 tons per trailer and it takes 10-15 seconds to tip off each trailer. The airbags extend to maximum extension but I’ve never seen them blow. Tipping 15 loads a day.

shock absorber damage is probably a bigger issue than an exploding bag.

As a mechanic i have never seen an air bag blow from too much air. Our trucks even have switches to raise air the bags to the max for trailers dropped too high. A bag in good condition is nearly impossible to blow with the pressure a truck creates

there is no more air in them at any time. can only be 120psi

Just install airbag limit straps on the axles.
