@history.unanswere4: The Titanic movie is iconic… but not everything happened the way we saw it on screen. 🚢🎬 Some moments were changed, exaggerated, or completely fictional. 👀 What else did the Titanic get wrong? #Titanic #TitanicHistory #HistoryTok #HistoryFacts #HistoryUnanswered
Even though the character of Rose was fictional, she was the villain of the movie.

An old teacher of mine who worked at dalbeattie High school(where murdoch was from)took this in accuracy to the town Council and leaders.
They petioned the film makers.
Executive Visit: In April 1998, Scott Neeson, then vice-president of 20th Century Fox, traveled directly to Murdoch's hometown of Dalbeattie in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, to personally apologize to Murdoch's family and the local community.
The film company and James Cameron apologised and donated £5000 to school.
They put it towards the Murdoch trophy for outstanding pupils.

According to Neil deGrasse Tyson the night sky they used was just mirrored. They could have gotten real night sky of the night

Why do so many people struggle to grasp the concepts of films?? They’re not meant to be 100% accurate! Creative liberty is always taken. Sometimes it’s even more respectful than directly portraying what actually happened. Also why are we picking apart a film from 1997 like… seriously.

If it was fully factually correct, the film wouldn't have been worth watching. They always do this to add dramatic effect. Brave heart is the same.

I remember hearing the dime was not from the time period. While many items of the movie were factual since Cameron was intrigued by the ship it was never portrayed as such
