When you've lived here long enough you understand that it's not so bad because it's only going to be like that for maybe three stops, just on the west side of the Yamanote Line because it circles central Tokyo, and people get on those trains because the system runs exactly on time, so taking a later train isn't an option if you have to transfer to another train to get home, which will also be exactly on time.
