my piercer had me do a aspirin paste on my piercing bumps a couple times and they never came back!

safe bet is to just take it out and let it heal fully while you research and consult reputable piercers in your area

Professional piercer here: with out seeing the angle of the piercing it’s hard to come to a full conclusion. But there are a couple things I see in the video that are almost certainly attributing to the irritation. Putting adhesive on the entrance of an open would is almost definitely not helping, and it likely causing continued irritation rather than ultimately solving your problem even if it give you a temporary relief. A flat disk or bezel set gem on the top rather than a bead may help, but again with out you having showed the angle of the piercing it’s hard to tell. 4 months is the early end of average for a heal time in this location, and everything from the outside looking into the video looks pretty normal for that amount of healing. Stop touching it so much and drop the tape and let your body do its thing. Not sure what cleaning you’re doing but a morning and night saline rinse and alcohol free mouth rinse is best for lip piercings. You shouldn’t be touching it at all between those cleanings. Even the cleanings should be as hands off as possible. If you need more info post a video showing the angle / back of the piercing and better advice may be given! Good luck

I would consult with a professional piercer, I think it’s so cute but if your body doesn’t want to accept it idk, but I am scared since you’re prone to keloids

if it's pierced wrong just take it out and get it re-done. I suggest at a 14g with a flat disk top. Fatter bar for better stability, I've done all my lip piercings, philtrum too, at 14g and they healed wonderfully. Definitely just go to a better piercer. make sure they're a free-hand blade only sorta piercer. No catheter needles.

Hi, go to your piercer. If it’s rubbing when you talk, you need a different size bar!

Mine took almost a year and a half to heal i almost took it out too. Maybe try titanium jewelry, or maybe the bar could be a little too long, so switching it into a shorter one

Have you tried going to a linger bar? I had to stay in a longer bar even after healing because mine would get so irritated

I noticed that a lot of sensitive areas have a hard time healing bc the top is a ball. Ask your piercer for a gem that is flat rather than a ball. It lays better on the skin so it snags less on external things. So if you accidentally hit ur face, the ball would def get snagged. But if the top is a flat gem, it wouldn’t get impacted as much bc it doesn’t stick out like the ball top you have right now.

I kept getting keloids from my nose ring. Try cleaning it with saline solution twice a day. It cleared up my keloids really well

Do not put aspirin paste on your face regardless of what people say, it will burn off your skin.

try a longer bar, and when you’re cleaning it make sure you’re thoroughly drying it. i had an issue with an irritation bump but it was my navel, the excess moisture was irritating my skin. also the piercing bump oil on tt shop actually helped me tremendously

what is the jewelry made of? titanium is hypoallergenic and lighter weight than steel
maybe get a longer bar so it has some extra space so it's not rubbing

If the angle is wrong it’s never going to heal. The irritation will be more likely to cause keloiding

Bactine max had my ear piercings that refused to heal, healed in weeks! I use it for all my piercings now. I used to always get irritation bumps, or it’d get real tender. I use bactine and saline spray afterwards sometimes, but just use it atleast once a day, and try a small amount of tea tree oil.

if you do decide to take it out maybe look into a vertical philtrum? it has almost the same look, but in my non professional piercer opinion it’s more stable. i got pierced w a 14g piece of jewelry and have never had irritation bumps w it and it healed like a dream. my medusa was constantly irritated

Step one, if you haven’t already, get titanium jewelry that fits well. If that doesn’t do the trick, heal it and get it redone. Best of luck! My experience is that I have several piercings that are well healed and only wear titanium.
