@ashmartodam: Replying to @Mrs. Judkins If your curls don’t last, pay attention…there are 2 things keeping your hair from staying curled. 1) Temperature 2) Hair Prep. What temperature should your hot tool be set at? Fine, Fragile, or Damaged Hair: 250°F – 300°F Use low heat to prevent snapping or burning delicate strands. Normal/Medium Hair: 300°F – 350°F This range works well for average thickness and healthy textures. Thick, Coarse, or Textured Hair: 350°F – 400°F Higher heat is needed to penetrate dense strands, but try not to exceed 400°F If you are trying to curl soft, smooth hair. The curls holding don’t stand a chance. By prepping your curls with a texture spray (that also protects your hair) it is giving it some grit for the curl to hang on to.
