I'm surprised and impressed that the stepdad is okay with it I said the girls almost 18 mom is just where it'll open Old wounds for her not the child child as far as I read or heard never met the man even if Mom says no all she's got to do is wait a couple months she's 18 she can go mom should let the girl make her own choice young kids 2 3 4 5 6 no mom makes a choice or dad depending on who has custody but when the child's almost 18 they have a right to make that choice

I've been in this position. I agree with mom but respect that at almost 18 its not my choice. its the daughters. I hope the " step" dad goes with his daughter to meet the donor. I hope everyone in the situation gets closure.

sounds like mom has unhealed wounds, and holding onto hate. if daughter and step-dad are willing, its not moms decision. that mom needs to get a grip

As someone that has seen mothers manipulate their children and lie to make them hate the rest of the family. I told my niece I quit calling because I am not going to listen to you be a puppet, if you have nothing to say then okay but I am not calling to hear your mom speak in the background and you repeat it like a parrot not fully understanding what you are even saying as a child. She is an adult now and has been in therapy for years. She sent a message saying she is tired of being the only adult in the house taking care of her brother and mom….

If stepdad and daughter are cool with meeting him then they should do so. Doesn't mean he isn't everything mom is warning the daughter about, but the daughter should be making the decision on her own atp.
