@marcusmathstutor: 4 brackets. No calculator. And expanding them is probably the worst way to start. At first, this product looks like a lot of tedious multiplication. But there’s a pattern hiding in the powers. Spot it, and the whole expression starts collapsing almost by itself.
immediately recognized the pattern as solution for 2¹⁶-1.
(2¹⁶-1)=(2⁸+1)(2⁸-1)=(2⁸+1)(2⁴+1)(2⁴-1)
=(2⁸+1)(2⁴+1)(2²+1)(2²-1)
=(2⁸+1)(2⁴+1)(2²+1)(2+1)(2-1)
(2¹⁶-1)=(2⁸+1)(2⁴+1)(2²+1)(2+1)(1)
65536-1=(2⁸+1)(2⁴+1)(2²+1)(2+1)
(2⁸+1)(2⁴+1)(2²+1)(2+1)=65535

I would switch the first one to 2^2-1, from first two brackets I’ll get 2^4-1 then multiply by the 3rd you get 2^8-1 and finally 2^16-1=65536-1=65535
