Instead of exporting general nurses to Jamaica, the government is actually sending enrolled nurses, which ironically deserves some appreciation. While these unemployed general nurses are highly trained through extensive clinical practice and National Service Scheme (NSS) rotations, the government’s overall efforts are still failing to effectively combat the broader healthcare unemployment crisis.
