Where to search: official breeders; specialized communities; advertisement websites (for example, Avito), but always check the seller carefully. 2. Where does a weasel live? A weasel needs its own safe home — a spacious cage or terrarium with excellent ventilation. Because a weasel is an active predator, good airflow is very important to prevent unpleasant smells and keep the environment healthy. Important: ventilation from at least three sides; regular cleaning; safe bedding. The enclosure should include: hiding places and dens; soft tunnels for sleeping and resting; hammocks; shelves and climbing levels; toys and exploration areas. A weasel needs space not only horizontally but also vertically — it loves running, jumping and climbing. 3. What do weasels eat? A weasel is a predator, so its diet consists of animal-based food. Main food: day-old chicks; approximately two chicks may be needed for 24 hours. They can also eat mice: pinkie mice (without fur); or very young mice with only the first signs of undercoat appearing. Adult mice are not suitable as the main diet. Important: the diet should be varied; food is provided in a natural form; fresh water must always be available. 4. Weasel exercise time Walking a weasel outside is not recommended. It can get scared by loud sounds, sudden movements or unfamiliar smells and escape. Finding it afterwards is extremely difficult. The best option is safe free-roaming inside the home. At least: around 4 hours of supervised activity every day. How not to accidentally hurt your weasel? A weasel is a very small, fast and curious animal. It can: run around your feet; suddenly appear nearby; climb onto your hands and legs; move around your body. That is why you need to be careful at home. Important: watch where you step; sit down carefully on sofas and beds; check blankets and pillows before sitting; close doors slowly; always know where your weasel is before moving.
