Ambition isn’t always about a career either. A lot of those homesteaders are very ambitious- making bread, homeschooling the right way, raising animals, homemaking, being a super mom. Men want that.

And this does work both ways. I dated someone who was just getting her degree and getting into her career. I went to college right out of high school and had been working in my field for years making 6 figures. She would always ask me "why not keep going" but I had already accomplished my goal. I always felt she was trying to get to my level and she thought I wasn't doing enough
