@brynn.peptalk2: This is the easiest way I’ve found to understand it: Think of a pept!de like a text message. 📲 Its half-life tells you about how quickly the amount of it itself is decreasing. But its effect is what happens after your body gets the message. Those are two different clocks. And suddenly I realized I’ve been looking at half-life numbers all wrong. 😂 A short half-life doesn’t automatically mean: “Welp. It’s gone. Nothing is happening anymore.” And a long half-life doesn’t tell you exactly how long you’ll feel an effect either. This is why I’ve stopped treating the half-life/active-level info in my Stackr app like an expiration timer. Now I’m looking at the number alongside what I’m actually tracking — energy, mood, focus, recovery, pain, etc. Because apparently I woke up today and chose pharmacokinetics. 🤓🌶️
