I love your post. This is Maverick. I got him in June. We had a couple of good rides and then a couple of bad rides that ended with me having very large bruises and a tailbone that told 6 weeks to heal. But I have had chiropractic work done on him and have done a lot of groundwork also. I’ve been working on being able to get up on him because after our second ride, he wanted nothing to do with me trying to get on him. He was also a very spooky horse when I got him. We are just about to the me sitting on him point. Maverick is also a TWH.

I would defiantly takes some days just desensitising him to sounds,moves,etc !he’s doing pretty good 😊

this is great! love that you did a few sits before an actual ride. one tip: teach one rein stop from the ground next to him, then when mounting use that to get on, he won't bolt away, if he tries to leave/kick the hind end goes away from you. very important for him to know in case pf a big spook, never pull straight back
