I like someone, but I still have nothing to offer her. I’m still on a long journey of becoming the person I want to be, and I’m not yet able to give her any certainty. I can’t even bring myself to tell her that I like her. I’m still trying to become worthy of standing beside her. Sometimes, I may seem distant or quiet, but it’s not because I don’t care. I just don’t want her to fall too deeply for me when I can’t yet give her the certainty she deserves. I don’t want her to end up disappointed because of me. And if, somewhere along this journey, she finds someone better than me, I will let her go. As much as it may hurt, I would rather see her happy with someone else than keep her waiting for something I cannot promise. For now, all I can do is keep working on myself, quietly, until the day I’m finally ready to stand beside her.
