@neilinvests: This is exactly the approach that I took. I’m not saying it’s easy, and that’s why most people won’t actually achieve it, but it is as simple as this.

Build wealth from zero :
That’s the benefit of a global etf. You can just buy in every month and just focus on building a side hustle, focusing on your career and building your income.

i think mind set also. All the videos I watched and reading i did befire I started investing was all saying "100k is the magic number", which in reality is correct, but it wasnt until I read the psychology of money I managed to change my perspective because I realised, 100k for most people (with debt) is such an overwhelming number and if you dont reach it quickly you feel that you are failing or you failed. so I started by targeting 10k. just for me to save that... this was an achievable number and now, saving is an essential expenditure for me every month now. even if only £20 on some months. now, I am alsot debt free, about to buy my dream house and will be able to start my investment journey again, this time with my eyes on early retirement. and tbh, your videos have contributed ti this, so thank you Neil.

I agree that this is the deeply non intuitive thing about investing and also why it's a rightly dismissed by a big part of the country that literally don't have 'spare' money to be throwing into long term investing. telling someone not to spend that £100 because if their lucky in 12 months it might become £110 is laughable. and yet, if you have the means to build that to 100k, that 10k starts to look pretty sweet

got that info 👏 I paid off all my debt, applied for a 40% tax reduction in my new SIPP , I now plan my annual leave in the NHS so I can work bank shifts on top of my substantive wage and now I'm in a position to place more into my S&S ISA 🥰
