Zuko wasn't a prodigy. Katara is an influential water bending master but she is not the strongest. Aang staying with the air nation and trying to complete his avatar training would've probbally led to a better outcome for the war and that's the point, Korra isn't poorly written shes just more flawed than Aang, and the series struggles to grapple with the treatment of Nonbenders basically any time it is brought up. nuclear: Azula getting a redemption arc would kind of miss the point of her character and her arc is actually much stronger without one.

Most Toph fans don’t understand her. Toph do not solo Katara. Zuko is below both of them in terms of power. Iroh is a war criminal and isn’t as pure as his glazers think. Aang, Toph and Azula glazers are the worst parts of the fandom but still behind Korra haters. The list goes on…

Zuko was a prodigy, he just wasn't as good as the others. Katara, Toph and Azula are escentially the youngest masters (not including avatars) in their respective elements, and Aang is the youngest in 2 elements, being the second youngest in the other 2
