@our__riverside_dream: ᵃᵈ There’s a particular point on a family holiday when you realise you’ve actually switched off. For Alex, it was somewhere between confirming the booking with British Airways Holidays and the realisation that nobody needed anything from her for at least 45 minutes. A personal best. That, for us, is the joy of travelling with British Airways Holidays. Everything feels considered before you’ve even arrived — the flights, the hotels, the transfers and, crucially, the small humans. In Corfu, the children were brilliantly and confidently cared for, which meant Alex could properly relax. No mental checklist. No wondering what everyone was doing. Just sunshine, a book, something cold in a glass and the unfamiliar sensation of having absolutely nowhere she needed to be. And I relaxed too, obviously. Although apparently repeatedly asking, “Isn’t this relaxing?” slightly undermines the concept. Family holidays aren’t really about escaping family life. They’re about having the time and space to enjoy it — turning ordinary moments together into the ones you remember.
