i feel like in other countries the natural hair movement has been much more successful than the us and I really wonder why. in cabo verde in a short amount of time it has become quite unfavourable to have relaxed hair and you see almost everyone rocking some sort of natural style.

i remember someone saying disliking their natural hair is as normal as disliking your stretch marks and to leave them alone. stretch marks have nothing to do with anti blackness. people have found many underhanded ways to soften internalised racial hatred
