fun fact from a former art student! Rome was mostly built to have this EXACT effect on people, all those narrow streets with high af buildings served the element of surprise of the big squares/places with magnificent artwork (fountains/statues/architecture). A lot of it was built during a historical time where art had to have a big effect on a person just by looking at it, they’d have to be wowed by it on first sight (it all had to do with religious reasons i will not elaborate, but i am a dedicated nerd :P)

Accidentally stumbled across it when I took the wrong turn while drunk walking home to our Airbnb 😹 thought it was so pretty and so lonely, had to have a photoshoot even tho I had no idea what it was. I stayed in bc I was hungover af the next day and watched Lizzie McGuire movie and saw her and paolo drive past it and freaked out!! As my family went on a tour there and said it was PACKED af😭 🫠

There’s 9 approaches to the pantheon and we studied every one of them and drew the sequences to them Rome architecture study abroad is unreal 🙈can’t believe that was my homework
