I worked for an airline for 20 years. Anything like that is turned into lost and found. They baggage claim offices communicate with the airport l&f and visa versa. So the claims are system wide. If the laptop was found at the end of the aircraft route and then turned in, it is a system wide program and would be easier to fine. Unless someone took it.
