I will forever grieve her old design. It looked so cool and had so much potential, and it's a lot of fun to draw too

The director straight up admitted “we took toothless, and removed everything that made him masculine”

I think lightfury is cute (pls dont hate on me..) she may have been made only to be a mate, but atleast they made her have scenes, and stuff. and im pretty sure (the 2nd movie) toothless and the lightfury have 3 kids now, more screen time etc.. idk, I dont mind how she looks. I think its to resemble how us girls are more softer in emotion, but with how light ACTS it shows us women are also very strong with emotions too, and fight a little better. (I am a trans male. Female to male. do not hate. I am just daying what I need to say.)

The Cartography Cottage 🇦🇺 :
In the art book it says her species comes from the hidden world which means she is a subterranean animal which means she has to be inspired by the Olm. The design that Dreamworks came up with literally does not work with this because it just looks sexist. I know they were basing her off snow leopards as well but that also doesn't work for the environment her speciesnis supposed to come from. This is my rendition and it's for MY OWN PERSONAL AU so if you don't like it then that's fine

Her whole existence was to be toothless’ mate so they couldn’t give two shit about giving her a decent design

I don't understand how is she supposed to hunt if she is white and sparkly and not a cold/winter dragon

not only that, but im pretty sure the designers of her said "we dont want to make her too reptilian" but shes literally a fucking reptile.

it pisses me off when they add a female character just for it to be the male protagonist's love interest

„its not that deep" but EVERY other dragon design in this whole universe is accurate to it’s surroundings and light fury is literally the only exception. it’s odd

SUNNOLI / COMMS OPEN :
the worst part is that we do have this very femenine dragon that still looks like a dragon and has scales like Heather's razorwhip from raze to the edge. Windshear even has lashes or someting that looks like lashes and still has so much personality and fits into the aesthetics of the world we are presented to

Ngl in my head it's always gonna be stormfly x toothless because I genuinely cannot look at Lightfury without feeling uncomfortable smh

I haven't finished the redesign, but I made her look like an actual dragon, a subspecies of a Night Fury, and hawk like dragon. I will forever be dissapointed with the design and personality we got
