It’s wrong but I personally believe it’s a symptom of a car-centric society. As a restaurant server for years I saw dozens of people a day drive away after 3-4 drinks.

I mean, alcohol does impair your judgment. You don’t even have to be obviously intoxicated to be over the limit. It’s very likely you’ve been over the limit and felt fine and didn’t realize it

everyone i know who has a DUI thinks everyone else also has a DUI 🥴 i think it’s just psychological cope for the shame they feel so they surround themselves with other people who have done the same thing in an attempt to feel normal, but it’s most certainly not 😭

Recovering alcoholic here who got a DUI 16 years ago. I concur with this guy - to this day, I’m grateful I learned my lesson the easy way without it being a collision and no one getting harmed.

My friend was killed by a drunk driver a few years ago. He drove his car through the restaurant patio where she was serving. She left behind three children. It was his 5th offense. He killed multiple people. I quit drinking after that.

I literally had a boss a few years ago that had so many DUIs his license was revoked. He had the audacity to lecture me about success and I was like bro ..lets look in the mirror. He passed away this year at 36

as someone who got not one but two DWI‘s during a very, not so great time in my life, they took away everything even if it wasn’t directly. I lost my license. I lost my job. I lost my vehicle and I lost the ability to see my firstborn daughter for six months outside of weekly two hour visitations that was a metaphorical punch to my mouth. I am now four years sober the job that fired me has rehired me, and I now live with my daughter and her m mother in the home that we bought together. DUI tell a lot about a person, but only if they are unwilling to change, I spent four years becoming a better person after my last DUI I have plenty of more years to go.
