The reason for the similarities is because they both have the same authority, just at different levels. The Iridescent Moon (Sonnet) had the greatest share of Death but then when the HP and the Shades took a part of it. Ronova took that authority for herself. Sonnet still had that power. Arlecchino being a child of the Crimson Moon which is what the Iridescent Moon became after abyssal corruption which was then later claimed by Columbina and Arlecchino. After Columbina became the Trilunar Goddess she gave the Iridescent Moon marrow to Arlecchino, giving her the same level of power over death. That's why they were able to use Ronova's own power against her.
