@lala437034: 🇮🇹 MOUNT ETNA, SICILY — VOLCANIC ASH CLOUD RISES 4 KM | SEPTEMBER 24–25, 2026 Mount Etna in Sicily, Italy, remained highly active on September 24–25, with repeated volcanic ash emissions affecting aviation around the volcano. A new episode of intensified activity began on September 24, when an ash cloud rising to around 4 km above the summit formed from the summit craters and moved toward the south-southeast. Aviation authorities issued a red VONA alert, the highest of four levels, and airspace directly above the volcano was temporarily closed. At Catania Airport, arriving flights were initially limited to 10 per hour, later reduced to 5 per hour as ash emissions continued. On September 25, further ash emissions were reported from Etna, while monitoring and aviation measures remained in place. 📍 Sicily: Did you notice the volcanic activity or changes to flights around Catania?
